The Genesis of Redell
For many years people have lived on their land minding only their neighbors and traveling merchants. They mostly lived with their extended families on their farms. These families had around 20 to 30 members. But the idea of growth constantly wandered their minds. Eventually, some families decided to associate with their neighbors, thus creating Cooperatives. These Cooperatives were made up of at least 3 families, and the largest Cooperatives numbered up to 15 families. It is at this time in history that people start fighting each other. This time in history is called The Cooperative Wars.
It is after one of these wars, that Redell came to be. After the Amuzina Cooperative defeated the Durrin Cooperative, the head of one of the Amuzina Cooperative families stated a proposition in the Cooperative Council. His name was Jon Redellon. He was a very respected member of the council and an experienced war veteran. He suggested that the Amuzina Cooperative should make a pact with her neighbor Cooperatives, thus creating a kind of Cooperative of Cooperatives. His argument was that no one will dare attack them when they are the biggest of all Cooperatives. The council debated the proposition, and finally decided to make it happen. The Amuzina Cooperative had contacted 9 other Cooperatives, and they all accepted their proposition. The center was built around the Amuzina Cooperative. Of these 10 Cooperatives, 8 were strictly human, and the other 2 were dwarven. Jon Redellon, however, unfortunately did not live to see the day his dream become reality. He fell of the roof of his house while trying to repair the chimney. In his honor, their Cooperative of Cooperatives was named The Redell Union.
Redell became very popular and more Cooperatives wanted to join the union, but Redell had to refuse some, as they did not show prospect. One of such was a proud dwarven Cooperative. They attacked Redell when they denied them annexation, but Redell had a much stronger an bigger military, and they defeated the dwarfs single handed. Learning from the mistake of the dwarfs, other Cooperatives started making their own unions, so they could keep up with Redell, both economically and with military power. Very soon, Redell was not the largest and most powerful state on the continent any more.
